Beginning in 2015, LORNA leadership set out to completely re-forest our neighborhood. We have partnered with the City of Salinas to do so via the "Adopt - A - Tree" program. Neighbors are invited to participate by signing up online. The City installs a street tree (with proper sidewalk protection) and the adopting neighbor agrees to water and care for the tree. Every year our neighborhood gets prettier and more charming with new trees being planted. They add a sense of tranquility and increase our property values too! PROPER CARE IS IMPORTANT to ensure the trees are healthy and their roots grow deep. This care is required for the young trees recently planted (and those planted in the last few years):
Trees add so much beauty to our neighborhood and I appreciate ya’ll taking good care of them.
